#4 - Go on, you can do it!
I'm absolutely certain I'm not the only woman on the planet who has this dilemma! I've had to do a lot of pondering and brooding, before being able to follow the advice below.
Clutter free
If your wardrobe makes you shed a tear
Maybe it needs a thorough clear
Clothes not worn for many a year
Maybe now could disappear
Go on - have a good rifle -
Speed away to the nearest recycle.
It's not that I have masses of clothes. Far from it. Fast fashion has long since passed me by. Maybe that's the problem? I'm in an outfit for the duration! I know I have a summer dress in my wardrobe that has been in it for about thirty-four years. Yes, true, that's not a typo.
But I think not letting go of certain items of clothing has several reasons:
- Sentiment! Ah yes, I remember where I wore that.
- Gosh, can still get into that skirt. Amazed!
- Can't get rid of that - I mean who'd wear it anyway?
- Can't get rid of that either - really useful in the snow.
I could ramble on. I haven't even mentioned the hats. Which I don't have the courage to wear but secretly would adore to. You get the idea.
Whether or not I will succeed in A Big Clearance this spring, remains to be seen.
So much easier to give advice than take it!
