#34 - Can A Mirror Ever Be Kind?
This week's MIMIT explores self-acceptance and honest reflection. What's in your mind matters more than what the mirror shows. Look for the laugh lines and smile!

Oh dear me! I don't know how many girls or women of any age have looked in the mirror and thought, 'Beautiful…just beautiful!' as they gazed at their face. Frankly, I don't think I've ever met anybody who has.
One of the loveliest looking women I know has virtually no mirrors in her house, except in the bathroom. She could certainly look at her reflection and say, 'Beautiful' but alas she doesn't.
Personally, when I face my reflection these days, I wonder who on earth it is! I feel like Bob Hope in a very old movie. In one scene, he pokes his tongue out, stares hard in the mirror and shouts, 'Gimme a stick and I'll kill it!'
The thing about mirrors is that very few of us, women and girls especially, ever seem to get much joy from what we see. Even those universally acknowledged for their exceptional beauty. They always come up with some niggle. Men, on the other hand seem more confident in this respect!
For better or worse, we can never see ourselves as others do. My friend who won't look in mirrors, is beautiful inside as well. If or-when- any of us ever have, 'Gimme a stick' days, it's worth remembering everything can be transformed by the thoughts in our head.
Just look for the laugh lines and smile a lot!
