#28 - How Easy Is Sorting The True From The False?

This Mimit  is one of my many queries!  The very swift growth of Artificial Intelligence has sparked a new level of both understanding and learning.  But alas, also of unease or even fear.  How we deal with it is important to all of us.  If I was a wise prophet, doubtless I'd know the answer to this question.  How I wish I did.

So I decided to ask this question to ChatGPT:  How can we decide information on AI is reliable or false? The reply was actually helpful!  

In fact, to quote  directly its immediate reply:

It then proceeded to give me seven headings. I've copied their use of bold: 

1 Check the Source

2 Look for Evidence

3 Evaluate the Content

4 Cross-Check With Other Sources

5 Understand AI Myths vs. Reality

6 Use Fact-Checking Tools

7 Watch for Red Flags  

Under each heading were a number of points you could question for further research and finally, it offered me: If you're unsure about something specific, you can also share it here and I can help you evaluate its credibility.  Would you like a checklist or tool to help assess sources?

I then asked Perplexity exactly the same question!  In essence, it appeared to agree with ChatGPT.  Whew!   

I hope, dear friends, if you've not already done this kind of investigation, it  might be of some use to you.   

Perhaps the key lies with those individuals who've the power to assemble this technology. They need to be men and women of wisdom and integrity. If their sincere desire is to help   the planet, and all life upon it, surely AI will be an extraordinary gift?
