The more you learn about Planet Earth, the more you respect, value and want to protect what it gives us. Without it, we have nothing.

So what dictates every aspect of our lives and livelihood whilst we're here, in our substantial bodies?  Obvious answer - the weather!  From the second we open our eyes in the morning to the time we close them at night, we're affected by it. It determines what we eat, what we drink, what we wear and, much of the time across the globe, how we earn our living.

Almost fifty years ago, I recall occasional talk or articles in the media about climate change. No one, or so it seemed, appeared to take it seriously. But in 1977, the year my son was born, I absolutely remember grumbling to my mother about the spring weather.  The seasons were  no longer behaving in a  'traditional' manner.

But for the past two years , there's been absolutely no doubt.  The climate isn't just changing. It's changed.  However, our global leaders seem all too willing to put money and personal power before the interests of the planet.  This is alarming to all of us who are aware that we're fast moving into  an environmental crisis.

Hope is still with us! Today I read about Project 89%.   A huge global-spanning survey has shown that we're united in our concern, far more than we ourselves and our political leaders realise. More than two-thirds of us are willing to give 1% of our income to fight the climate crisis.  We're a 'silent majority.'  We've been seriously underestimating our power to act.
